Apparently, Tesla has to take some tough decisions in order to boost up Model 3, Model S and Model X. As a part of this, Elon Musk said that Tesla would be cutting off color choices. As of now, the company offers 7 different color variants. These customized options are reducing the speeds of production, says Musk. So, as a countermeasure, Tesla will be producing a specific set of color versions for the cars. It should be noted that the company has failed to meet a number of production deadlines in the past, and the issue was even worse in the case of Tesla Model 3.

Model 3 is said to be the least expensive car that is made by Tesla and the demand was skyrocketing since it was announced. However, in the past time, Tesla was not able to keep up with the demand or match with a lot of production deadlines, inside and outside. This has also resulted in the situation where the cars are not being delivered at the proper speed. In order to overcome this situation, or at least minimize it, Tesla would be removing 2 of the 7 color options it’s offering. Users won’t be able to get Obsidian Black and Metallic Silver from now. However, Musk added in the tweet that customers can request both these versions, at an increased cost.

Solid black, midnight silver metallic, deep blue metallic, pearl-white multi-coat, and red multi-coat are now available as the color options when you purchase Tesla vehicles from now. These will be available at normal cost, and Tesla aims to deliver them as earlier as it can. Talking about the change, a spokesperson added that such changes are normal in Tesla and that they are made for streamlining the production process. In related news, Tesla is also offering options for quick delivery of vehicles on first come first serve basis.
