Twitter Spaces is getting an update. It is related to 2*the audio feature. The feature will make it easier to share and discover live audio on the platform. This feature will allow users to share a new tweet from the Live Space directly. The tweet will link to the audio chat. Also, it will connect to hashtags if any. Twitter earlier too allowed users to compose tweets directly from Live Space. But the new feature will let the users more easily share a tweet about the conversation as it is taking place. Twitter said that it will increase the participation of users on a post. Twitter Spaces is the live audio chat service by the microblogging site.
The company projects Twitter Spaces as a competitor to Clubhouse. The Clubhouse was launched in April 2020. It is a platform that is based on voice. Users can talk and listen in real-time. Twitter launched Twitter Spaces in November same year. The company allowed accounts with a minimum of 600 followers to host a conversation in the form of audio. Twitter said that its team during research found that users want to communicate both in and outside of Spaces. It launched the new feature after reviewing the demand. The company said that handle of the host will soon be added to tweets automatically soon. Twitter also announced that live and upcoming Spaces have now become searchable.
Twitter said that iOS users will soon get a new feature to manage guests. It will be called Guest Management controls. It will allow iOS users to host see who all are in a Space and those who have requested to speak. Twitter is consistently updating Spaces to compete with the rival Clubhouse. Twitter recently launched the support for a web version on the desktop and mobile. Twitter Spaces was previously available via apps on iOS and Android. Meanwhile, Twitter is believed to be doing an experiment to allow hosts to sell tickets for taking part in the conversations. The feature will be called Ticketed Spaces.
